When former South Carolina Sen. Jim DeMint jumped ship as a lawmaker to join the Heritage Foundation and throw rocks at the Obama administration, his staff doesn’t seem to have gotten the same golden parachute and nifty contract as the ex-senator.
On Thursday, one of DeMint’s former health care policy analysts supplemented his loss of a steady job by appearing on the television game show “Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?”. Unfortunately, the gods of the Free Market determined that Chris Jacobs should not be a millionaire after all.
According to Politico, Jacobs walked away with $100,000 after being stumped by a question about what turkey is referred to in the nation of Turkey. (It’s called “Hindi,” in case you were wondering).
In any case, congratulations to Jacobs for his winnings. We’re looking forward to seeing when that money trickles down to the rest of us!
