President Barack Obama used two Bibles during his swearing-in ceremony on Monday: the Bible used by President Abraham Lincoln at his first inauguration, which Mr. Obama previously used in 2009, and a Bible used by the Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
The appearance of two Bibles stacked on top of each other caused some conspiracy-minded conservatives to speculate whether one of the books was actually a Koran (via @DUMBCEPTION):
Though there is no constitutional requirement for the use of a Bible during the swearing-in, presidents have traditionally used Bibles for the ceremony, choosing a volume with personal or historical significance. In 2009, President Obama became the first President sworn in using the Lincoln Bible since its initial use in 1861.

Some of these people just mentioned the Quran, not all of them indicate that they think Obama used it. Even in a light news fluff piece like this, your headline shouldn’t lie.
And to tie them all in as being conspiracy minded conservatives. For all we know this could be something that he manufactured and then cut and paste. People are so stupid its scary. Who the hell cares what his religious beliefs are. I have no qualms with people being upset with his ‘change’ but to continue to hear people whine about his religion while listening to all these feeds about the war on Christianity… it’s total hypocrisy….

When Chief Justice Roberts screwed up the oath of office in 2009, Right Blogistan raised such a stink that a second oath was given later.
Will anyone object that Roberts again screwed it up by adding “So help me, God”?
There would be no problem if the President ad-libs this line, but the Chief Justice has no business cueing it up.

Whats the point of ahving two of the same books for swearing in. Obviously its seperate entities. Regardless if it was the supposed Lincoln Bible wouldnt it have been more relevant to swear in on a singular book regardless if it was a methodist or whatnot…its still a bible old and new testament. The statement of having two books present is obvious.
